Welcome

The first Life Chain was formed in 1987 when local churches and Christians united in prayer for one hour and stood on both sides of a three mile route through Yuba City and Marysville, California. Approximately 2500 Christians stood in pre-assigned spots holding signs stating the truth about abortion.
In September of 1989, 101 churches came together in Bakersfield, California for the second Life Chain with some 7500 participants, Since then, the National Life Chain has spread to over 1400 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
Wilmington began participating in 1991 and in recent years the Wilmington Life Chain has grown to include over 100 churches with approximately 2000 participants. Life Chain is held annually on the first Sunday of October.
